Native Engish-speaking Teacher Scheme (NET scheme)

 

Objectives

• To establish a natural and pleasant environment for the children so that they have an authentic exposure to English.
• To enhance students' motivation in English learning and develop their listening and speaking skills.
• To increase students' exposure to native English-speaking people.

 

(a) Literacy Programme (P.1-P.2)

 

• To enhance the reading proficiency of the students through a sustainable literacy programme with foci on reading and writing.
• To develop positive learning habits at an early stage so as to establish basic literacy skills for future learning.
• To conduct a reading programme for P.1 and P.2 which can cater for learner diversity and provide children with intensive support through small group teaching.

 

(b) Extra-Curricular Activities

 

• Story-telling in the morning assembly
• Story-telling on the School Campus TV
• English Language Camp (P.3-P.4)
• Puppetry training
• Remedial class
